Melissa Wyers proudly serves as Commissioner for ANC1D04, representing the vibrant Mount Pleasant neighborhood she has called home since 1991. Her district includes much of the business corridor along Mount Pleasant Street, the library, and surrounding residents between 16th Street and 17th Street. Commissioner Wyers brings perspective shaped by her experiences as a small business owner, nonprofit worker, and ESL teacher.
Commissioner Wyers focuses on quality-of-life issues that matter most to residents: housing for all, making streets safer, supporting local businesses, improving and protecting our cherished public spaces and ensuring every resident receives the city services they need and deserve.
Commissioner Wyers’ favorite thing about serving the community is connecting neighbors with resources and each other. She loves how the community is always ready to help our neighbors. She enjoys dining at our great neighborhood restaurants, spending time in our parks, and practicing yoga with neighbors at Past Tense. She lives with her two cats, Giorgio and Nico.
Commissioner Wyers believes that when Mount Pleasant thrives, everyone benefits—and she's dedicated to making that vision a reality.
