(Washington, DC) - On Saturday, October 15, 2016, the Run for the Badge 5K will take place in the District of Columbia. In conjunction with this event, there will be several street closures that motorists should take into consideration. The event set-up time will be from 4:00 am-12:00 pm, at which time the 400 block of F Street, NW between 4th and 5th Street, NW will be closed to traffic. The race route will be closed from 7:00 am -11:00 am.RACE ROUTE The runners will start in the 400 block of F Street, NW and proceed east to 3rd Street NW, then travel south on 3rd Street, NW to 3rd Street, SW, U-Turn at Virginia Avenue, SW and travel north on 3rd Street to D Street, SW and proceed west on D Street, SW to 4th Street, SW. The runners will then travel north on 4th Street to Maryland Avenue, SW, go west on Maryland Avenue and prior to 6th Street, SW turn around and proceed to Independence Avenue, SW. Then, travel west on Independence Avenue, SW to 7th Street, SW, turn around and travel east on Independence Avenue, SW to 3rd Street, SW, from there the run will go north on 3rd Street SW to 3rd Street, NW. The runners will go west onto G Street, NW to northbound 4th Street, NW and turn around prior to H Street, NW.
