(Washington DC) The District Department of Transportation will conduct milling and paving work on Pennsylvania Avenue NW from 3rd Street to 15th Street starting tonight at 8 pm. Construction is scheduled to be complete in early November, weather permitting. The repair work includes new brick gutters, bus pads, resetting of man-holes, milling, paving, pavement marking and resetting of bicycle lane delineators. Crews will work from 8 pm to 6 am weeknights. Concrete work will be performed during the hours of 8:30 am to 4:00 pm on weekdays and 7:00 pm to 5:00 am on weekends. During construction at least one lane will be open to traffic in each direction at all times. However, curbside parking will not be allowed on some parts of Pennsylvania Avenue. Temporary traffic signs and flag persons will be in place to direct the traffic around construction zone. Parking Restriction signs will be posted at least 72 hours in advance, at locations where parking will not be allowed.
