The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) will temporarily close single lanes on the Theodore Roosevelt Bridge (I-66) for inspection and maintenance work from Sunday, November 13, 2016 through Sunday, December 4, 2016, weather permitting. All work will be conducted during off-peak hours. Nighttime Inspections and ClosuresThe Theodore Roosevelt Bridge will be inspected during the hours of 8 pm to 5 am. The inspection will require lane closures November 13 through November 22, and November 28 through December 4. At least one travel lane will remain open to traffic at all times and access will be provided to all ramps.The US 50 eastbound ramp to eastbound I-66 will be closed from 8 pm to 5 am Monday, December 5. A detour will be provided through the N Lynn Street/Rosslyn/Key Bridge exit to access eastbound I-66.The I-66 westbound off ramp to westbound US 50 will be closed from 8 pm to 5 am Tuesday, December 6. A detour will be provided through the I-66 westbound off ramp to George Washington Memorial Parkway to Lynn Street to westbound US 50.The I-66 westbound off ramp to westbound George Washington Memorial Parkway will be closed from 8 pm to 5 am Wednesday, December 7. A detour will be provided through the I-66 westbound off ramp to westbound US 50 to Lynn Street to George Washington Memorial Parkway.These closures are necessary to perform an inspection of the bridge deck. Temporary signs and traffic control measures will be in place to alert and guide the traveling public through the work zone.Speed limits in the work zone will be reduced for safety. DDOT strongly encourages all motorists to stay alert as they travel in the area.
